KUALA TERENGGANU, Feb 8 -- A boat repairer was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today with murdering his father in Kampung Pulau Duyong last Wednesday.
The court interpreter had to read out the charge twice to Shahrul Azmi Che Mat, who appeared to be in a daze, before he understood it.
Shairul Azmi, 20, is alleged to have murdered Che Mat Nik, 51, at number 3635, Kampung Pulau Duyong Besar, at about 2am.
No plea was recorded.
Deputy public prosecutor Badius Zaman Ahmad asked the court for two months to prepare the post-mortem and chemist's reports.
Magistrate Nor Azizah Yusop fixed April 6 for mention.
