KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 -- Motorcyclists topped the number of deaths in road accidents yesterday, as Ops Sikap 21 entered its first day.
Seven out of nine deaths reported in the operation -- aimed at preventing road accidents prior to the Chinese New Year festival -- were motorcyclists.
The rest involved occupants of a car and another vehicle.
In a press statement today, Bukit Aman head of public relations Supt Rasdi Ramli said 723 accidents were reported at roads nationwide, adding that 10,097 summonses were issued.
