Azerbaijan invites Najib to visit the country


KUALA LUMPUR, 10 March -- Azerbaijan has invited Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to visit the country in the near future.

The letter of invitation from Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Najib was conveyed through Azerbaijan Emergency Affairs Minister Kamaluddin Heydarov  to Malaysia's Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Lee Chee Leong during their meeting in Wisma Putra, Putrajaya today.

Heydarov was on a two–day visit to Malaysia from yesterday, aimed at strengthening relations between both countries, said the Foreign Ministry in a statementtoday.

Heydarov, who was in the capacity as the Personal Envoy of the Azerbaijan President, had also during the meeting with Lee discussed efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia and Azerbaijan, particularly in the areas of economy, trade and investment.
